Introduction
Custom fields are used to allocate/segment expenses by different dimensions.
Project, office location, cost center and employee ID are common dimensions.
Typically this data is then forwarded through to payroll and bookkeeping.
There are three types of custom fields available: text, boolean and select.
When using the select type, you must also create the predefined custom options that will be used as select options.
Confined Custom FieldsSometimes employees should only see a subset of all custom field options.
For example, a company with 30,000 active projects may want to confine the list
for each employee to the handful of projects they are currently staffed on.To enable a confined field, toggle the
confinedvalue (in the Skovik UI) and
assign custom field options for each employee.
