The resources in our API, such as users, custom fields and custom field options, are all subject to soft limits.
Soft limits set a cap on the number of resources, of a specific type, that can be created.
The purpose of soft limits is to limit the havoc from some types of errors,
such as a loop adding an infinite amount of users.
The error from soft limits will be 423 Locked.
In that case, get in touch and we'll raise the limit.
Soft limit exampleA company with 1000 employees may get a soft limit capping the number of
users at 1,500, whereas a company with 100 employees may have a soft limit of 200 users.
If your company grows rapidly you may hit the soft limit, and ask us to have it raised.
